Jack Kavanagh had just finished first year pharmacy, was a qualified lifeguard and windsurfing instructor (and fanatic), and had a future full of promise ahead of him. On August 31st 2012, Jack Kavanagh's life changed forever. Diving into the water on holiday in Portugal, Jack, a keen windsurfer, suffered a C4/C5 spinal injury. He was told he would never walk again.
Now his life journey will be very different to what he originally envisaged, but he is determined to overcome the challenges and have as full and normal a life as possible. Just one year after his accident Jack has started back at college.
The Match
On Thursday, March 20th several heavyweights of Leinster Schools' Rugby will join forces to do their bit to help Jack's cause. Sponsored by Lifestyle Sports, Spin 1038, Davy Stockbrokers and Snap Dame Street and supported by Leinster Rugby, it is set to be a memorable occasion.
