8 Things That Will Happen If You Date Your Friends Ex

There is an unwritten rule that states a certain line should never be crossed. This line I am referring to is when you date a friends ex. In some situations, there is exceptions to the rule but in 99.9% of them there isn't. I could go on and on about the rules of friendship but instead I will show you a list of 8 Reasons Why You Shouldn't Date A Friends Ex. If you are already in this position I applaud you, it is all downhill from here.

1) The Go Ahead

This friend of yours may say it's okay and they may even encourage you to go for it but this is not how they feel. It is either a test to see if you will do it or a fake go ahead that you will regret.

2) Reverse Psychology

If you ever get into a disagreement or full on row with your new boyfriend or girlfriend you will get unlimited support off your friend. They will console you and tell you what your new fancy woman/man did wrong. And, then they will proceed to tell you how they did that to them as well. The situation will all of a sudden be much more dramatic than you first thought.  This will leaving you feeling confused, even worse and on the edge.

3) Comparing Positions

You will find yourself, more often than not, comparing your relationship to when he/she was with your friend. If you are quite the opposite, cool as a cucumber if you will, the ex may tell you the comparisons. If your new boyfriend or girlfriend lets something slip about their "psycho ex", it will be more than uncomfortable.

4) Birthday Presents

What they get you for your birthday will no longer be a surprise as their previous gifts to certain people will start to resemble yours. They have a gift pattern and they aren't afraid to use it. No one will be surprised or frankly feel interested in the gifts you have received.

5) Cheating Pattern

If they cheated on your friend in a previous relationship you will feel that they might do the same to you. This will lead your usual carefree attitude into a state of jealousy and paranoia.

6) Hatred Among Friends

When your new lover and his ex broke up you and your friends consoled him/her deeply. Trash talking the ex in many aspects; his personality, his looks and, most importantly, his manhood/her lady lumps. Since your friends hated him a mere 4 months ago what has changed? Absolutely nothing whatsoever.

7) Frequent Fighting

You will find yourself fighting with this friend more than usual. The fights would be over the pettiest things that would normally not matter. These arguments are being caused because you are dating their ex, if you haven't realized that already. Be warned if you ask your friend if it is about the fact that you are dating their ex it will explode even further.

8) Friendship Over

Unfortunately, from the moment you get with the ex it will be tainted and you will come to somewhat hate your friend. You will create a battle in your head between him or her and the friendship will never recover. Now you are beginning to realize it wasn't really worth it aren't you?

Moral of the Story:

This relationship will leave you feeling jaded, disgruntled and really not yourself. Even if it isn't a big deal that you date him, your friends will think otherwise. Best case scenario for this one is, yes you've guessed it, not to date them at all. If you do break up your friend/ the ex will be excited and giddy. It's a lose-lose situation really.
