Stop Whining, And Start Living: Why "Yes" Should Be Your New Favourite Word

I was recently inspired by the "Yes" phenomenon and took it upon myself to take advantage of new opportunities, forget about any excuses or worries I may have had, and step completely out of my comfort zone. The possibilities are endless once you disregard that negative, uninspiring "No" word from your vocabulary. Leave your comfortable, sheltered, boring routine behind, and seize life by the balls before it passes you by! Here's why "Yes" should be your new favourite word!

College Life.

College life is one domain where saying "Yes" will lead you down vast corridors of endless opportunities. College is as much about getting involved with your school's events, meeting new people, hanging out with your classmates as it is about studying. Join clubs and societies, attend extra-curricular activities, go on student marches - you never know who you could meet or what opportunity may fall into your lap. Trust me, that's the best advice that a recent graduate can give you!

Travel.

Travel is the real spice of life. You leave home to explore the world, live through a timeless wild adventure, and fill in the blank pages of what lies ahead for you. Once you leave home, you never come home the same person. The beautiful people you meet, the vast cultures you experience, the loved ones you've won and lost all have an affect on you, but I firmly believe it all changes you for the better. So what are you waiting for? Just say "Yes."

Meeting New People.

How many times have you been invited to a party or a get together but turned it down because you "don't know anyone there?" That is the number one cop out, and all it will achieve is prohibit you from enjoying a spontaneous night out, meeting new people, and living life to the fullest. Your new best friend or next love might be at one of these parties just waiting to meet you.

Dating.

What is it that's holding you back from going out on dates and meeting new people? A lack of confidence is a prime factor, and fear of an awkward encounter or just plain laziness aren't far behind. Forget about these inexcusable fears and put yourself out there. It's the things in life that you DON'T do that you regret, not the things that you do. The girl or guy of your dreams might be out there passing you by.

Step Out Of Your Comfort Zone.

Try something new and don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Open yourself up to new experiences and opportunities because you'll never know how you will feel about it otherwise. And who knows, you might even like it? The further you stray away from your comfort zone the better. Nothing bad will come of trying something new! You might be shit scared or feel awkward and embarrassed at first, but who cares? What will you try your hand at - Skydiving? Ballet? Hiking? Badminton? Poker? Say your new favourite word "Yes" and give it a shot!
