Girls Are Not As Tidy As You Think: 11 Things Guys Learn From Living With Girls

Having female roommates has its obvious ups and downs, but there are certainly a few things that guys can learn from living with girls.

1. There is hair EVERYWHERE.

There is hair everywhere. In the sink, stuck to the floor, on your clothes- everywhere. You just have to accept this and hope you don't pull a particularly long one out of your dinner. Girls will also not appreciate this point being raised...

2. You will watch infinite episodes of Friends.

There is no unacceptable time to watch Friends. It doesn't matter if they've seen the episode a million times, it is almost a sacrosanct activity.

3. Girls watch a LOT of TV.

On a similar theme to the previous point, girls watch a lot of tv series and will set aside several hours (or maybe even days) to get their fix.

4. Girls eat a lot more than we think.

They easily eat as much as guys - maybe even more. And there is very little of greater appeal than chocolate!

5. Some femininity will rub off on you.

This is such a cliché but it's true! Birthdays will seem more significant and other people's relationships will be extensively and needlessly discussed. Accept this and move on.

6. You'll understand the opposite sex better.

This femininity will have its benefits. You'll dress better, improve how you talk to girls and just generally have a greater understanding of the opposite sex.

7. Your girlfriend is more likely to stay over at your place.

If you have a girlfriend, she's a lot more likely to stay at your place if your housemates are female. Even better if your girlfriend and roommates get along, because then she'll be much more relaxed and less anxious about making a good impression.

8. Girls are not tidy.

Girls are not tidy. They are worse than boys, without a doubt. The notion they are tidy is a myth. Clothes, makeup and shoes will decorate your flat.

9. There will never be enough toilet paper.

I recommend a personal secret stash.

10. Getting ready is incredibly long.

Getting ready is a one hour minimum process. Get used to drinking a little earlier than your housemates when going out. Or, don't get ready until they are, although the former option is more fun.

11. Tread carefully during their time of the month.

Tread carefully once a month. When it's THAT time of month, do not feel it is a good time to raise one of the above points. Hell hath no fury...

I'm a 21 year old student, dreading losing both elements of that title in the coming future. Football, music, travelling and socialising keep me sane. Recommended by 4 out of 5 people that recommend things; a Mexican, not a Mexican't.
