Dating 101: How To Let Her Know You're Interested

There are plenty of ways to let a girl know you're into her. You could play it creepy and just stare at her from across the room. Or you could be ironically forward and go for the "you're just fantastic!" route (although this actually falls back into the creepy section of the Venn diagram I'm creating here). To be fair, if you're interested in a girl, your interest will manifest organically and you shouldn't have to worry about it... unless you're shit with girls. If this is the case, and you are shit with girls, read this. If you're one of those girls who is totally oblivious to guys coming on to you, maybe you should read this too, because that shit is annoying!

Eye Contact

First on the list for a reason. You frequently hear girls say how important eyes are, or that it's one of the first thing they notice in a guy. You have two of them, man - use them! Don't give her the creepy wide-eyed look or the squinty/broody half eye. Just make full, lingering eye contact. You'll know how long is too long. If you catch her looking at you, hold her gaze - she'll probably look away first.

Don't Come On Too Strong

Rookie mistake. This actually counts double if the girl is really hot and knows it. If she's used to getting loads of attention and you deprive her of it, laissez-faire style, she'll be interested. Not necessarily interested in you but interested why you aren't ogling her like everyone else. Play it cool, bro.

Laugh At Her Jokes

If she's funny, let her know. If she isn't funny but you like her, laugh anyway. Nothing will endear you to her quicker than encouraging her goofy side. It will encourage her to talk more and she'll find herself opening up for you (figuratively, with potential for literally).

Physical Contact

I'm not a huge advocate of this one, but I have it on good authority that brief contact is a definite sign. Not like gently-brushing-her-ass-with-your-crotch contact. More like rest-your-hand-on-her-forearm-for-a-second contact. It breaks a boundary of sorts and further increases the level of comfort between you two.

Ask Her Questions

If you seem genuinely interested in her, she'll think you're a really nice guy. Again, if she's genuinely interesting, asking her questions will come naturally. This goes hand in hand with being a good listener. Listen well and ask relevant questions - you'll be tagged as a nice guy by really doing sweet fuck all.

Chivalry

Holding the door open, letting her go first, all that stuff. They say it's dead and, for the most part, it is. But for one night only, it's back! Once again you look like a really nice guy and it does your reputation a world of good.

Offer Her A Drink

OK so offering her a drink can be smooth, but bide your time! Don't rock up and immediately try to ply her with alcohol. Bad moves bro. Get in some eye contact, chivalry, physical contact, etc. Then - and only then - do you offer her a drink. Get past her guard with the techniques listed above... then get hammered with her.

Find Things In Common

Once again, if you have things in common, life is good! If you love the same films, read the same books and share the same opinions, you're basically good to go. In saying that, you also need to have things you don't agree about because if you agree on everything, life could get boring fairly quickly.
