10 Make-Up Mistakes All College Girls Make

All girls are victim to some make-up mistakes over the years. Here are the top ten make-up mistakes all college girls make and here's how to tone it down, once and for all.

Fake Tan

If you go overboard, you'll smell like an old biscuit and look filthy. Apply a small amount to your legs with some moisturiser mixed in, that way you're both silky smooth and sun kissed.

Eyeliner

We can all get a bit trigger happy with our eyeliner, especially on a night out. Make sure to invest in a great eye liner brush, or a good quality eye liner so you that you don't end up looking like a Goth, unless of course, that's the look you're going for.

The Smokey Eye

Again this is another example of where you can go too far. Try not to apply too much glitter, and go easy on the darker shades of eye shadow so that you don't look like you've been hit in the face. Black eyeshadow goes a loooong way.

Foundation

The amount of girls who wear the wrong colour of foundation is unbelievable. Make sure to pick a shade that isn't too light or dark. It's also really important to change your foundation depending on what time of year it is, as you're likely to darken in colour if you spend a summer in the sun.

Blush

Watch out that you don't go for the wrong shade and look like a clown. Baby pink is always a good option, or get one of the make-up assistants to help you out in picking the right colour for your skin tone.

Bronzer

Jersey Shore gals can't get enough of the stuff, but make sure not to go overboard. A little can go a long way, especially if it's in a dark shade. Don't make yourself look filthy.

Eye Shadow

Be very wary of bright colours. While they can be great for particular occasions, you also don't want to make yourself look like a ten year old playing with their mums make-up bag.

Eyebrows

Thanks to Miss Delevigne, eyebrows are back in a big way. By all means keeping eyebrows in shape is key, as they majorly shape your face. But girls, if you feel like penciling them into a geometric pattern, moderation is very important. Otherwise you can make yourself look permanently stern.

Blending

The face to neck blend can be an extremely stressful occasion for any girl. If you're aware of it while applying your make-up, make sure to try and fade your foundation to your jaw line. If you're still a bit unsure of whether you have a line or not, use some powder in a slightly lighter tone to mix it in.

Lipstick

Lipstick can be your best friend or your worst nightmare. If you're a seasoned pro, darker and bolder colours can make you look like a superstar. Remember to get the right lip liner though, or your lips may start to melt over the course of an evening. If like me, lipstick terrifies you slightly, then keep to more muted colours until you get the hang of it.
