Why Your 20s Is The Best Time To Travel

Your 20s can be the most exciting time in your life and definitely the best time to travel. You're only responsible for yourself and you're unlikely to have anyone or anything else to look after, so get out there and see what the world has to offer. You'll be amazed by what you can learn!

No ties

During your 20s, most people are in the lucky position of being able to get up and go without anything tying them down. If this sounds like you, why not get up and travel the world!

You appreciate the finer things

If you're travelling somewhere exotic, a hot shower can be an unbelievable luxury. There's nothing better in your 20s than learning how much of a luxury some of the most basic things are. It'll humble you, which can't be a bad thing.

You can balance partying and culture

Sometimes partying abroad can be an amazing way to discover a different culture and find out what a place really has to offer. So make the most of your fresh young liver, dabble in the local brew or vintage and see where the night takes you.

You can get along with everyone

You're fresh out of college and, by this stage, are likely to have come across an amazingly broad selection of people. This means you're a pro at making new friends, so staying in a hostel or something similar will only help you build your social network. And you never know, some of those people could stay with you for the rest of your life.

You're wise enough to stay out of trouble

By 20, you know getting arrested will do you no favours in the future, so you might as well try and be well behaved. Save the bad-boy/girl antics for Malia.

You can get away with making the occasional mistake

If you're lost or end up booking the wrong train/flight, it's ok. If you're a girl, put on your doe-eyes and beg for forgiveness. If you're a boy, well, try not to make the same mistake again!

You're independent

If you don't want to travel with a massive group of friends but you still want to see the world, you're at the age when you have the independence to do so! So saddle up and get going.

You'll understand the world a little better

If your geography knowledge isn't up to scratch, what better way to learn than by exploring different countries. You'll be blown away at the sheer scale of some places.

You'll learn about different cultures

If you haven't travelled much before, you'll (hopefully!) enjoy learning about people and cultures in distant parts of the world. It's truly amazing what young people from opposite sides of the planet can have in common. On the other hand, differences are what make us unique - the more varied experiences you enjoy, the more you'll learn. This exposure can only be positive and you'll take the best things back with you to share with everyone at home. So much love to give.

You've got time

You're never going to have enough time to travel the world for this long when you're in employment, so make the most of it and see as much of the world as you can.

You'll get to know yourself better

There will be times when you may have to travel alone, so you'll see what makes you happy and what doesn't. There's no better time to learn about who you are and you may even discover some new secret passions.
