11 Reasons Why Your Ex Will Always Have A Place In Your Heart

I hate saying this, but to a certain extent I feel that there's a teeny part of everyone that will always love their ex's. It makes sense in a way, I mean, you spent a significant amount of time with this person, you had some sort of feelings for them and they were a big part of your life at some point. So it's only natural that you'll always hold a little space in your heart for them. Even if you had a bad breakup and you hate their guts, I still kind of believe that deep down somewhere in your subconscious, there's a little bit of love (being the total romantic that I am). Here's why I believe you'll always kinda love your ex:

1) They Made You Feel Special.

Remember when they would hug you extra tight, or say that you looked amazing and treated you as if you were the only person in the room? Although you're probably hurt, it can be hard to forget those feelings you once had and you'll probably compare this to most of your future relationships.

2) They Got Your Sense Of Humour.

It can be difficult to find somebody that truly gets your dark and twisted sense of humour. Or someone who doesn't judge all of the absolutely ridiculous things that you happen to laugh at. You remember fondly just sending them videos or pictures knowing that they're on the receiving end absolutely creasing up. *Sigh*

3) They Knew Things About You Nobody Else Knows.

You would stay up late at night and delve deep into both of your personalities as you discuss different life experiences. They knew things about you that you wouldn't even dream of telling the police under severe interrogation.

4) They Knew Exactly How To Cheer You Up.

Many's the time they would meet you after work and take you for food, or simply arrive at your house with some chocolate and jellies (or wine), or put on your favourite film, basically whatever it took to cheer you up.

5) You Were Both Into A Lot Of The Same Stuff.

You shared a lot of common ground, you were into the same music and films, this is a lot of the reason you two were together in the first place. Whoever will listen to random 60's music with me now?

6) They Knew What You Were Thinking Before You Did.

There were times when you were upset or confused, and they would somehow have the solution long before you managed to come to the conclusion yourself.

7) Their Family Loved You.

Let's face it, their mother thought you were the best thing since sliced bread and you felt more at home in their house than you did in your own. To be honest, sometimes I felt like the worst part of breaking up was losing their family too.

8) The Sex Was Amazing.

There was no denying the chemistry you two had between the sheets, it was explosive. And now it's gone *tear*. They just got you, they knew what made you tick and that's kind of hard to forget.

9) You Could Be Yourself Around Them.

There are very few people in the world who you will allow to see your true weird little self and they were one of a few.

10) You Still Physically Fancy Them.

Unless they have completely changed their whole appearance, there's a high chance that you still think they're pretty hot. Which sucks, because sometimes you wish you didn't.

11) You Can't Help But Think They Feel The Same.

This is definitely the shittiest part of still loving your ex. You think that maybe they might have these feelings for you too, because if you still feel all of these things, then surely they do too?
