A Zoey 101 Reboot Is Starting To Look Very Likely
The last couple of months has seen a number of major cast reunions over Zoom. The most recent comes from the cast of Zoey 101 who reunited on Zoom for a series of interviews last week.
The cast of the Nickelodeon show got back together, albeit over video calls, to promote a sketch they did for the show All That, which aired earlier this month.
Zoey 101 was created by prolific producer Dan Schneider and debuted in 2005. It ran for four seasons.
The series of interviews with the likes of Buzzfeed, E! and Access were led by lead actress Jamie Lynn Spears. She was joined by her co-stars Christopher Massey (Michael), Paul Butcher (Dustin), Matthew Underwood (Logan), Erin Sanders (Quinn), Sean Flynn (Chase) and Kristin Herrera (Dana).
The cast spoke about their favourite moments from Zoey 101 as well as some of the antics that went on behind-the-scenes.
Zoey 101 Reboot
During the interview with Access, Jamie Lynn said that the ultimate goal is to do a reboot of the show.
"After this reunion, the chemistry was still there," she said. "The vibes were all still good.
"These characters were such a big part of people's childhoods and our fanbase is so connected to them," she said. "It's important for us to make sure that we tell the story of where they are now and connect to our fans again. Finding the right home and telling the right story is equally as important as it happening."
The cast recently reunited for a sketch for the Nickelodeon show All That, in which they played themselves. In the short skit, the cast struggle to get by security to see a screening of the show.
Talk of a Zoey 101 reboot is big news for early 2000s Nickelodeon fans. Rumours of a reboot began to circulate back in 2015 when Dan Schneider released a short video in which Sean Flynn and Christopher Massey reprising their roles.
The clip titled 'What Did Zoey Say?' revealed Zoey's feelings for Chase which she had put in their high school's time capsule 10 years previous. The clip ended on a cliffhanger after Zoey admitted that maybe Chase was her "soulmate".
Does this mean we will finally be getting that long-awaited Zoey 101 reboot?
