Aer Lingus Corrected Ryan Seacrest After He Thought Lingus Was A Place In Ireland
Another day, another American not having a notion about Ireland. Anyone who's headed over on a J1 will know the struggle of Americans being unable to pronounce Irish names. Ciara is See-era, Caoimhe is Kwam-hee and Sineád is pronounced Sin-ee-ad. So when we saw this video of Ryan Seacrest thinking Lingus was a place in Ireland, we died inside.
On Live with Kelly and Ryan, the two presenters were chatting away about Delta Airlines' terminal move, and how it would affect various other airlines, including Aer Lingus. Ryan went on to say that is would easier for countries to stick with their national airline, "If you’re going to Canada, Air Canada. If you’re going to Lingus, Aer Lingus. I don’t know where that is… I think it’s in Ireland somewhere".
Are you actually taking the piss? Kelly then went on to admit that, "I've always been curious about Aer Lingus but I’ve always been too embarrassed to ask. I’m like “What is Aer Lingus?” and I wanna go on it".
Their shocking ignorance was greeted with Aer Lingus nicely pointing out who they were;
Hey @LiveKellyRyan, pop in to see us any time at LAX! (We're the ones with the green airplanes.) Love the show. 😘
