Moonlight won the best motion picture, and is about the life of a young black man from childhood to adulthood growing up on the rough streets of Miami.

2. Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy

La La Land picked up this award and is about a jazz pianist and a struggling actress crossing paths in Los Angeles.

3. Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama

This award went to Isabelle Hupert for her role in Elle.

4. Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama

Casey Affleck scooped up this award for his role in Manchester By The Sea.

5. Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy

Emma Stone grabbed this award for her role in La La Land.

6. Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy

Ryan Gosling received this award for again, La La Land.

7. Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture

Viola Davis scored the award for her role in Fences.
