Here's A Checklist Of Everything You'll Need For An Irish Music Festival
As the rain temperature gets slightly warmer, it's officially music festival season in Ireland. If you're a raver veteran or if it's your first time, there are some essentials you can't go without. Here's a handy Irish music festival checklist that will help you do just that.
As the weather likes to change a lot you'll need to prepare for every type of season happening in one day. This list features everything you might need for camping as well as non-camping music festivals. So get ready to drink, dance and be merry at whatever festival you plan on heading to.
Essentials:
- Festival tickets – well, duh.
- Phone – nothing's worse than losing your mates so remember to bring a phone. Whether you like to go old school and bring a blockia, or if you bring your iPhone for taking snaps it's important to be contactable.
- A tent – Well you need somewhere to sleep, don't you?
- A sleeping bag – a top tip is using the sleeping bag cover as a pillow by stuffing it with clothes you're not using.
Wardrobe:
- Wellies – a lot of people are too cool to pack these and end up dying with cold feet. No matter what the weather forecast bring wellies.
- Rain jacket – This is essential. Make sure to get a jacket that's big enough so you can layer clothes underneath.
- Loads of socks – Between sweating and getting your feet wet, you can never have enough socks.
- Sunglasses – it doesn't matter if it's overcast use them for style as well as for functionality.
- A big jumper – This will be your saving grace at night-time. Again, make sure it's baggy so you can layer up.
Toiletries:
- A toothbrush and toothpaste – you can have your daily wash down by the water fountains, it may not be glam but festivals aren't anyway.
- Suncream – although it's a rare sight, the sun does sometimes come out at music festivals so be prepared.
- Baby wipes – unless you're prepared to queue for up to an hour to have a shower, baby wipes are your best friend.
- Toilet roll – after day 2 there will be nothing left.
- Dry shampoo – for the ladies
- Deodorant
- Antibacterial gel – this can be handy if the one's provided run out.
Medication:
- Prescription meds – such as the pill etc.
- Plasters – in your inebriated state you might have a fall, plasters are always a good shout.
- Condoms – stay safe kids.
- Painkillers – not all of us can hack the sesh.
Random bits:
- A flashlight – this is super handy for finding your tent.
- Food and drink – remember to pack all your drink in plastic bottles or else you won't get it through.
- Bin bags – these are great for putting wet and dirty clothes in and won't ruin your dry clothes.
