The Official Results Of Our 'Which County Should We Get Rid Of?' Poll
The votes are in!
We have been collecting votes on our poll to find out which county we should get rid of, and you have spoken! Not that Ireland are actually axing a county but, ye know, with all this global warming and shit you never know when the day might come that we'll need to sink one for a flood plain or something.
Anyhow, you literally voted in your thousands - 14,300 times to be exact - and the results are conclusive. I'm sorry Dublin, you may be our capital but you simply have to go. Don't blame me, respect democracy!
Longford had led the voting for the most of the election but it would seem there was a late push to save the county, whose shopping centre was once a school tour destination for this author. It comes in as the second most popular county for the chop, followed by marriage equality hating Roscommon, stag party central Leitrim and terribly underappreciated Cavan.
Meanwhile Donegal is the least offensive county in Ireland as it finished bottom of the poll, just ahead of Derry and Armagh.
