Our Favourite Robin Williams Moments
One of Hollywood's funniest actors, Robin Williams, would have been 64 today. We want to celebrate the incredible life he lived, so with that in mind, here are our favourite Robin Williams moments.
Friend Like Me
Disney has a habit of turning out excellent songs almost with every film that they produce. But "Friend Like Me" is up there with the very best of them. I'm not ashamed to say that this bad boy still takes pride of place on my iPod.
Stand Up- Golf
One of the maddest stand-up comedians to ever grace the stage, this particular clip is one of the best, and sums his performances up in one manic clip.
Mrs. Doubtfire
It's hard to pick one moment from this masterpiece of a film, so just enjoy him dancing. Oh, and a tweet in tribute to Kim Kardashian. And yes it is from his actual twitter account.
Good Will Hunting- "Idiosyncrasies"
In his Oscar winning performance, probably one of the best scenes is this touching tribute to his dead wife by Williams' character, not just because it's funny as well as moving, but the whole "farts in her sleep" story was completely ad-libbed by him. This is why Matt Damon is laughing so hard, and also why the camera is shaking (if you look closely), because the camera man is laughing too.
Happy Feet- My Way
For me, Robin Williams' character and his "amigos" were the funniest thing about the quite underrated "Happy Feet", with this rendition of "My Way" showing that he hadn't lost any of the singing ability he had during Aladdin.
Dead Poet Society
Another of Williams' more emotional films, the "Oh Captain, My Captain" scene is the most iconic moment of the film. If you haven't see it, you really should treat yourself.
Whose Line Is It Anyway
If ever there was a show tailor-made for Robin Williams, it was one which relied entirely on your ability to ad-lib.
Flubber
Because no 90s childhood was complete without it.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this truly difficult time.
