The Inbetweeners Cast: Where Are They Now?
The Inbetweeners is widely regarded as one of the greatest TV comedies ever made.
Combining the crude with the downright stupid, the E4 show ran for just three seasons, but left an indelible mark on its audience.
The show, which debuted in 2008, broadcast its last episode nearly 10 years ago in 2010, and has seen two movies released in 2011 and 2014.
With it being nearly 10 years without a new episode of The Inbetweeners popping up on our TVs, we felt duty bound to tell you just what the four members of our favourite friend group are up to.
The Inbetweeners cast: where are they now?
Simon Bird (Will McKenzie)
Simon Bird plays the role of the protagonist in the show, as the sometimes sneering and often slapstick Will McKenzie.
Bird found success immediately following the show's finale, starring as Adam Goodman in Channel 4's Friday Night Dinner, which has run for six seasons.
Furthermore, Bird co-wrote a six episode sitcom with Inbetweeners co-star Joe Thomas called Chickens, which followed men who didn't enlist for the First World War and become social outcasts as a result.
2019 saw Bird direct his first feature film, Days of the Bagnold Summer. It was based on a 2012 graphic novel by Joff Winterhart, with its screen adaptation written by Bird's wife, Lisa Owens.
Joe Thomas (Simon Cooper)
Joe Thomas was the haplessly in love and forever mortified Simon Cooper in the show.
Thomas, much like Bird, found immediate success following the show's conclusion. Thomas starred in Fresh Meat, a show surrounding students living in a house share, as Kingsley, with the show lasting for four seasons.
Thomas, of course, co-wrote Chickens with Simon Bird. He also starred with James Buckley in the comedy series White Gold, which was created by Inbetweeners creator Damon Beesley.
One of the show's other creators, Iain Morris, cast Thomas as the lead in his 2018 debut feature film The Festival.
James Buckley (Jay Cartwright)
James Buckley was cast to play Jay Cartwright, the foul-mouthed, ultra-confident and perennial liar.
Since the show's finale, Buckley has been involved in a litany of productions, including setting up his own YouTube and Twitch gaming channel, Completed It Mate.
Buckley played the role of Del Boy in the Only Fools and Horses prequel, Rock & Chips. Furthermore, he starred alongside Joe Thomas in the sitcom White Gold.
He also starred in short-lived comedy shows Zapped and I Feel Bad.
Blake Harrison (Neil Sutherland)
Blake Harrison, the man who played everyone's favourite simpleton, Neil.
Harrison has been involved in a multitude of productions since 2010, immediately going onto star in the American black comedy show, The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret.
The actor, despite a fear of being pigeon-holed as a comedy actor, has performed in a raft of varied shows, from wartime dramas like World on Fire to detective series like Prime Suspect 1973. Harrison has been the voice of Scoop on Bob the Builder since 2015.
Currently, Harrison stars in World on Fire and in the sitcom Kate & Koji.
