Quick 'N' Easy Recipe of the Week: BBQ "Pulled Pork" Burger
Right lads, its time to move onwards and upwards and give this "pulled pork" burger a go!Instead of actual pork, this burger is made with mushrooms. Hold on meat eaters... hold on! There's a good reason for this!
Mushrooms are obviously waaaaaaaaay cheaper than pork but give the same great flavour. And believe me when I say great flavour because this baby is fucking delicious! They also are super quick and easy to throw together and will satisfy ANY hunger no matter how big or small!
You can use whatever mushrooms you like and dress the burger up in whatever way satisfies both your culinary or sexual desires. No one will judge because this recipe is between you and whoever you choose to share it with, so have your way with it and get ready to enjoy yourself!
BBQ Pulled Mushroom Burgers – Serves 4
Ingredients
- 500 g mushrooms (sliced finely)
- 1/2 red onion (sliced)
- 2 garlic cloves (minced)
- 5 – 6 tbsp BBQ sauce
- 400g slaw
- 4 burger buns
- salt and pepper
- 1 – 2 tsp oil
Method
Place a large pan on a medium low to heat. When the pan is hot, add the oil.
Add the onions and mushrooms and gently fry until nice and soft, around 7 – 8 minutes.
Add in the BBQ sauce, mix it through the mushrooms and heat so that it is warmed.
In the meantime, toast the burger buns so they are nice and crisp.
Spoon on a generous helping of the slaw, followed by the mushrooms and top it off with the burger bun before serving up to your adoring diners.
