12 Spots Around The World All Adrenaline Junkies Must Visit
Has that 9-5 got you so fucking numb that you feel like you need to just jump off a cliff? Well, guess what? That's actually socially acceptable! For adrenaline junkies and thrill-seekers that is. So if you're one of those people, I've got a bucket list of places you need to try out to see if they can heighten your fried senses and make you feel invincible, so go jump off mountains and shit you crazy freaks.
1. Los Angeles, California
So some lunatic attached a glass slide to the tallest building in all of LA for you to go down. The slide starts on the 70th floor of the building. Views of LA will be fucking unreal if you're able to open your eyes while on this thing.
2. Lake Taupo, New Zealand
Jump from a cliff in New Zealand toward the Waikato River...oh, and into it. Called a water touch bungy (as if it's cute and harmless), you choose how far into the water you want to touch down and they customize your ropes for you. Basically your bungee jump can end in full submersion in frigid water, cause your body hasn't been shocked enough by the jump.
3. Johannesburg, South Africa
HOWEVER, why bungee jump when you can free fall, no ropes attached? A SCAD jump is a freefall onto a Suspended Catch Air Device or essentially a giant net in the air designed to catch your free-falling body. Johannesburg's is the highest SCAD jump in the world right now. Go big or go home, right?
4. Livingstone, Africa
Victoria Falls is the largest waterfall in the world, and for the willing, you can literally swim right at the cusp of where the water is rushing over. Don't slip.
5. Gloucestershire, England
Skydiving is overrated, right? I mean, you have to get strapped to another person so you don't even get to fully experience your adrenaline high. Pass. Try instead walked on the wing of a plane. Yes, that's a thing. So go sign yourself up. You'll walk on the wing of a biplane while the plane flies and dives to get your heart rate dangerously high.
6. Helsinki, Finland
Want to voluntary lose all sensation in your body? Go ice swimming in Finland. Strip down to your bikini among the miles of snow, go for the undoubtedly coldest swim of your life, and then head to a sauna. Maybe this doesn't include the thrill of a bungee jump or a wing walk, but the intense temperations really rev up your body.
7. Tianmen Shan, China
The world's longest cable car ride is located here. You'll ride up a 5,000 ft. mountain to the top where you can stand on a glass walkway or do some cliff-hanging over the edge. Doesn't sound especially thrilling but if you look straight down...you've got a ways to fall.
8. Las Vegas, Nevada
Feeling...insane? Go up to the top of a 900ft tower in Vegas. Then get on a ride called INSANITY which will dangle you 64ft outward from the ledge. You'll be spinning and angled at 70 degrees, literally being dangled by a robotic arm over the edge of a tower. Screaming is acceptable, don't worry.
9. Ship Stern Bluff, Australia
This is one of the most dangerous surfing spots in the world for the size of the waves and for the likelihood that you'll be surfing over some great whites. You have to take a boat just to get out to your adrenaline-pumping surf spot.
10. Toronto, Canada
On the roof of the CN Tower you can get strapped on so that you can lean over the edge and walk around the top of the building for 30 minutes - an "edge walk" if you will. The adrenaline comes from the height and from trusting the single rope that's allowing you to lean out 1200ft above the ground.
11. Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
Ready for the Formula Rossa? It's only the world's fastest roller coaster reaching 239km/hr. You cut through wind so fast you're required to wear goggles on this quick joy ride. The ride lasts only a minute and a half, but don't worry, you'll be at the max speed within the first four seconds.
12. Acapulco, Mexico
Getting tired of jumping off the diving board at your community pool? Try cliff diving in Acapulco. The pros know the timing so they can jump at just the right time into the water. They even use torches to dive by night.
