The 7 Different Stages Of Your Session Depression
Session depression is very real folks. It's heavily diagnosed around the penultimate weeks of summer and the days following your recent touchdown from your excursions abroad. There are 7 stages of session depression, and here they are.
7. The Afterbuzz.
This is the afterglow that you experience immediately after your holiday. All the fun things from your trip are still fresh in your mind and everything you've consumed on your travels is still slowly eking its way out of your system, hence the obvious afterglow.
6. The Comedown.
The session depression comedown comes slowly, like a leaf falling slowly from a tree on an autumn day. Everything you've consumed on your trip has now exited your system, and you're slowly drifting back into reality. But you're not ready for reality to sink in just yet.
5. The Reminiscing.
"Remember when ...?" You and your friends jump at every opportunity to recall those moments from your holiday. You laugh, joke and giggle while reminiscing, which proves extremely irritating to the people who didn't join you in your travels. Is there going to be any other topic of conversation tonight? The answer is no. Not yet.
4. Reality Sets In.
This is the middle stage of your session depression, and the worst of all 7. It is rock bottom. Reality sets in which means you're back to work on Monday morning with no holiday in sight. You're stuck firmly back into your everyday routine and it is killing you! College is on the horizon, your holiday is a distant memory and the next time you'll have that much time off again won't be until Christmas...
3. Recovery.
At this stage, your session depression is starting to mend. But you still feel the gaping hole inside of you and come close to tears when you think how long it will be before you share another wild experience like that with your friends again. You're just focusing on piecing your mind and body back together now.
2. More Reminiscing.
It comes again. Now your holiday seems like years ago. Everyone has settled back into their everyday routines and you've almost forgotten about the time that Darren swallowed a whole johnny filled with semen.
1. Already Anticipating Next Year.
Already planning your 2015 holiday abroad? If you find yourself eagerly anticipating next year's holiday away, you know you've come full circle and this year's session depression is over. Prepare to go through it all over again next summer.
