Rockabilly wasn't just a time and place in America; it's a lifestyle. Everything from its style, culture and music has made its own significant print on society, and you'll be hard pushed to find another brand of music which makes you want to bop away and move your feet! Here are some of the best Rockabilly artists, old and new, who'll make you want to do just that.

1. Elvis Presley.

Arguably the most iconic and influential musical artist in the history of sound, Elvis Presley or, "The King" is one of the most recognisable faces that the music industry has ever seen, and with songs like "Jailhouse Rock", "All Shook Up" and "A Little Less Conversation" how can you resist moving your feet?!

2. Carl Perkins.

Carl Perkins's "Blue Suede Shoes" is a classic hit which in many ways, personifies the rockabilly era. Perkins's songs were recorded by artists as influential as Elvis Presley, Jimmi Hendrix, the Beatles and Johnny Cash. Paul McCartney once proclaimed "without Carl Perkins there would be no Beatles."

3. Eddie Cochran.

Eddie Cochran was an American rockabilly musician who was active in the 50s and early 60s. His rebellious attitude captured teenage frustration and desire and he became an iconic musical figure after he died in a car collision at the young age of 21. His rockabilly hits such as "C'Mon Everybody", "Somethin' Else" and "Summertime Blues" were among his most popular tunes.

Imelda May's musical ability and her outstanding vocal range are a potent combination on stage. She's renown for her rockabilly revival style of music and has been compared to female jazz musicians such as Billie Holiday, and her track "Johnny Got A Boom Boom" drew universal acclaim.

5. The Young Werewolves.

The Young Werewolves are keeping rockabilly alive today with their new age, modern twist. Their influences have stemmed from The Ramones and Buddy Holly, and they've managed to successfully merge rock 'n' roll with rockabilly. Their song "Hot Rod Burnin'" is one of their most groovy.

6. Ace And The Ragers.

Ace and the Ragers have developed a sizeable cult following with their swinging rockabilly style, mixed with noughties rock 'n' roll. Hailing from Cleveland, Ohio, the band drew a swing and rockabilly revival in their music in the 1990s and early 2000s, and wrote more than a few catchy songs!
