Cadburys Cream Egg deep fried in batter, I can almost feel my arteries clog up at the mere mention of it.
This delicacy first originated in Scotland, the home of deep fried mars bars and where it is socially acceptable to deep fry close to anything. A chipper called Off the Hook in Airdrie added it to their menu due to demand from their customers. This egg could also get more likes than Kylie Jenner the way it's going.
Now in Ireland, or more specifically Ballyfermot, we have followed suit. A chipper called BBorza in Ballyfermot, is offering them for a limited time only.
Ballyfermot is famed for its greasy spoon chippers and was an early adopter on the spicy bag trend that has swept the Nation. The humble Spice Bag is now recognised as the go to food of choice for the hungover. It is thought to have originated from Carlow, however, there is much speculation around the exact origins.
If you have given up sweets for lent, nows the time to break loose, these will only be here for a limited time. If like me you're not a quitter get yourself down there too while they last.
So to answer the question "How do you eat yours", here's another one to add to the list, dipped in batter, dropped in oil and an eaten whole while still melted. According to Cadburys survey, 53% of people bite off the top, lick out the cream, then eat the chocolate, 20% just bite straight through and 6% use their finger to scoop out the cream.
