DIT Student Invents A Genius System To Help You Lose Weight While Watching Netflix
Sometimes you need that extra little push to get out of bed and do some exercise instead of just snuggling up and letting Netflix take you from episode to episode of House of Cards seamlessly. DIT Engineering student, Ronan Byrne, has come up with a great way to get us exercise-challenged folk to get moving.
The 21 year old student has developed a system called Cycflix that deactivates your Netflix account until you reach a specific speed on a kitted-out exercise bike. Once you've reached the speed on the specially-designed exercise bike, you can watch to your heart's content. If you slow down, the programme stops you from watching your movie or series again until you get back to the speed required. The user is able to adjust the length of workout and when they will take breaks, and you can also set the Cycflix up to work with Hulu.
The best part is that Ronan has shared details on how to build your very own Cycflix bike on Instructables. If you have the fairly basic materials required and a knack for technology, there's little stopping you from letting Netflix motivate your workouts.
What a wonderful world we live in.
