Spooning World Record Attempt In DIT

Over 1,200 students expected to take part in massive spooning conga line to break the Guinness World Record on Arthurs’ Day, fitting.

Thursday 26th of September will see the students of Dublin Institute of Technology attempt to beat the world record for the most people spooning simultaneously (Now that's a train I want to be part of) Originally set at 526 people, a recent record attempt set the bar at a whopping 1,108.

The idea has gone down a storm in DIT with casual innuendos surrounding the event such as “Spooning leads to forking”. the Student Union Welfare team will be there on the day giving out free condoms too. The event is being organised by Lysette Golden, with help from some DIT Societies, DITSU Ents and Welfare.

Spooning is defined as the intimate embrace off two or more people by placing your arms around the person in front. A simple task really, let see can they get 1,200 to do it. The event is open to all students across the country, so if you're a big fan of spooning get down to Aungier St on Thursday.

Kick off is 12 noon in the courtyard of DIT Aungier Street, pop down with your spooning partner or even just to take in the spectacle. For more information click here
