Stacey Solomon Schools The Online World About The Dangers Of Photoshop
Unless you've buried your head firmly in the sand, you'll have seen those countless Instagram posts and Facebook messages calling out Irish influencers for using photoshop.
Anyone familiar with the fashion world knows the reality of photoshop and face tune is a daily issue and popular figures have been campaigning against its use, concerned about how the distorted images might impact a young person and their sense of self.
Now former X Factor hopeful and Loose Women panelist Stacey Solomon has decided to share candid before and after photos to expose the realities of photoshop and our hats go off to her.
Absolutely loving Stacey Solomon for her taking a stand against airbrushing pictures!!!
I have so much respect for this amazing lady.
What do you think?!
We need more people like Stacey to make a stand and stop letting the media make beautiful women create unrealistic ideals. pic.twitter.com/Xig40IU0p8— Lucy Locket Loves (@lucylocket_love) January 9, 2018
Very proud to have said no to fillers and Botox today even though apparently I should “start now before it’s too late”... I chose the ability to show emotion and my age because getting older isn’t shameful... so, sorry love you’ll have to continue to look at this face forever ? pic.twitter.com/wO53XG9ydU

After highlighting a clear distinction, Solomon shared her concerns over how the body is portrayed online:
This is how scary airbrushing can be … just remember when you’re looking at someone’s post or in a mag or poster you might not be looking at real life images!...Love yourself because you’re perfect.
The photos were taken as part of a shoot with CelebSecretsMag, to highlight “how dangerous this kind of body morphing is”. As the post began to go viral, social media users commented in their droves under the Facebook post and tagging friends and family to tell them they were beautiful. One user wrote a touching tribute to her sister under the photoshopped pictures and the comment has been liked over 2,000 times:
I just want you to take a minute and look at these pictures both are equally amazing but ones the beautiful truth and ones a beautiful lie...its what you see every day...so no matter what you see on Facebook, Instagram or any other sites and magazines please don't ever compare yourself to the girls that you follow, that have the flawless pictures the great "life"... YOU are truly beautiful, amazing and so funny...you, my baby girl, are everything and never forget it...
The former singer decided to become a figurehead of body dysmorphia after seeing pictures of herself photoshopped, which she did not approve of, and being told by a beauty therapist she needed botox.
