Tourist Stuff
As cheesy as it is, tourist things are a great way to get to know a city as the city wants you to know it. Head out to some of the greatest places in Berlin and have a look around.
1. Grunewald Forest
Possibly one of the most beautiful places in the city, Grunewald Forest is the perfect place to have a nice relaxing stroll. There's so many beautiful spots here that you won't have trouble finding somewhere to sit down and admire the beauty. Take along a picnic and you'll be sure to have a great afternoon.
2. Museum Island
With 5 different museums for you to choose from, Museum Island is the place for all you history buffs or those who just love learning new things. The Altes Museum, The Neues Museum, The Alte Nationalgalerie, The Bode Museum, and The Pergamon Museum all make this UNESCO World Heritage Site a perfect and full day for you.
3. Mauer Park
The perfect place to head to if you're looking to do a bit of bargain shopping while in Berlin. They've got a fantastic flea market that you'll definitely want to visit. Brush up on those haggling skills!
4. Jüdisches Museum
If you're interested in some of the history of the Jewish people in Germany and Europe, head to this museum. While it may be heavier subject matter, it's definitely worth checking out, as it's one of the largest Jewish museums in all of Europe.
5. Holocaust Memorial
Known also as the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, this modern memorial is interesting to say the least. Comprised of concrete slabs on a sloping field, you definitely will want to have a look.
6. The Berlin Wall
Mostly destroyed in 1989, parts of the Berlin Wall still stand as remembrance of a time when East and West Germany were divided. Head to the wall to touch one of the most influential pieces of history in our modern world.
7. Olympic Stadium
Also known as Olympiastadion, this stadium was built for the 1936 Summer Olympics hosted by Berlin. Now used for football games, you'll definitely want to check out this historic stadium in all it's gigantic glory.
8. Berlin Zoo
Lions, tigers, and bears, oh my! Head to the Berlin Zoo to see some pretty awesome animals as well as sea creatures in their adjacent aquarium. With more than 1,500 different species of animals throughout, you'll be hard pressed to finish this up in less than a day.
Going Out
