Top 10 Shows To Binge Watch On Netflix
Netflix has provided us with a new way to binge watch our favourite TV shows and the selection is just phenomenal. Spending too much time looking for a new show to watch and not enough time actually watching it? Here's 10 of the best shows to binge watch on Netflix.
10. It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia.
It's going back over a decade now since this show first aired but it's well worth a watch. It entails the goings-on of 4 narcissistic friends who own a bar in Philly and their outrageous, hilarious and over the top behaviour! The show is written very well, and although the protagonists are the most self-indulgent, moronic caricatures on televison, you can't help but laugh and love them for all their faults.
9. Suits.
For me, the title says it all. It's about a group of New York lawyers who all look good, dress well and offer up sharp, witty and humorous retorts on an episode-ly basis! Of course, there's some office romances, fallouts and breakups which occur but it has arrived at season 4 now and each season just gets better and better. Netflix has only the first 2 seasons at the moment but I'm hoping they get series 3 and 4 soon!
8. The US Office.
I would suggest binge-watching the original here (The Office) but the show is too short for that double-barreled verb! The Us Office is as easy going as TV shows come. It's a seriously long-running show with a lot of guest appearances from several stars and honestly you'll never get bored of watching Dwight Schrute.
7. Scrubs.
If you're ever perusing through Netflix looking for a light show to consume your time, then Scrubs is your way to go. The silly bromance of JD and Turk, overly-aggressive rants of Dr. Cox, hilarious antics by 'The Janitor' and the on/off romance between JD and Elliot has all the fine workings of a quirky, light-hearted TV show. Easy to watch and you can breeze through episodes no problem in the midst of your Sunday hangover.
6. House Of Cards.
A Netflix original series based on the original UK version of 'House of Cards.' Both series are fantastic and both available on Netflix. I'm not at all interested in politics and have no clue about the goings-on of politicians in the chambers or the White House , but I simply couldn't peel my eyes away from the screen during Kevin Spacey's portrayal of the fictionalized corrupt politician, Frank Underwood. The characters are layered, with slick camera work and unpredictable twists. House of Cards will grab you by the balls from the get go!
5. Orange Is The New Black.
Piper Chapman stars as a female prison inmate with some of the craziest, funniest and wildest "roommates" in the joint which proves that the girls can be every bit as funny as the guys. After the first 3 episodes your eyes will be glued to this Netflix original series.
4. Mad Men.
Jon Hamm as Don Draper is about as slick a character as you can create. Take a peek into the 1960s ad agency in Manhattan, New York City. 1960s Madison Avenue is almost otherworldly to this generation in several realms, such as women's rights, smoking, drinking, fashion and language! The show is completely addictive. It's supremely hard to watch Don Draper drink a Manhattan without instantly wanting to light a cigarette and join in on the fun.
3. Breaking Bad.
If there's a person out there who hasn't watched this show I will instantly not get along with them. I don't care if you don't have a computer or a television, you NEED to watch this series. And good news! Netflix has every episode of the complete series. A schoolteacher-turned-meth dealer teams up with a former high school student to cook crystal meth to make money for his family before he dies of cancer. But ALL the twists, turns, unexpected nail-biting moments and sticky situations along the way! It's a must watch!
2. Family Guy.
You can always come back to the old reliable for a couple of effortless and easy laughs. For me, the earlier and more risqué episodes of Family Guy are the best, but they've maintained a high standard throughout their entire series - something which The Simpsons, unfortunately have not. Peter, Stewie, Quagmire and Brian always provide me with a great pick-me-up and cheap chuckles. It's my go-to show if I'm ever stuck in a rut on Netflix.
1. Lost.
It seems so long ago that Lost was running on our TV screens every night. Honestly, I still don't fully grasp what the hell happened in this show, and I'm convinced the writers didn't either. It seems like they were just making it up as they went along. There was a cliffhanger almost EVERY episode for crying out loud! But I will admit this: I was hooked! I plan to get lost in this series again and see if I can discover what actually happened the second time around.
