9 Dead And More Injured In Suspected Berlin Terror Attack
Some awful news has come to light tonight - there's been a suspected terror attack in Berlin, Germany at a Christmas market.
According to German police, 9 people have been killed and many more injured after a truck ploughed into a crowded market in the capital this evening.
At first the horrific crash looked to be an accident but as details come to hand it seems as though this was a planned act on innocent people.
A co-driver was found dead in the lorry truck, and the driver was arrested 100 metres away in the Tiergarten. Reports have revealed the truck was registered in Poland.
Witness Emma Rushton told the Guardian that the truck ploughed into the very fast. “The truck was going 40mph. It was in the middle of a square, there are main roads either side, [where it could have come from]. But it showed no sign of slowing down,”
“We heard a massive bang. About eight to 10 feet in front of us was where the lorry ploughed through. It ploughed through the stall where we bought our mulled wine.
“It ploughed through people and the wooden huts, it tore the lights down. Everything went dark, it was black and there was screaming. It was awful,” she said.
