ABC Cancels Newly Rebooted 'Roseanne' After Racist Comments Made By Roseanne

The newly rebooted show Roseanne has been cancelled due to racist comments made online by its creator and lead, Roseanne Barr.

Roseanne is an ABC sitcom that has recently come back on air after 21 years. Roseanne was praised in the past for being an open minded, feminist powered show that combated difficult issues of its time. The reboot of the show started out very well, with 18 million people tuning in to watch the first episode.

Comedian and actress Roseanne Barr, is known to be a Trump supporter, and her character also has more conservative views than the others in the show. Roseanne has also been quite open about her views and has made different controversial comments on her social media channels before.

On Monday she took to Twitter to made a racist slur against Valerie Jarrett, a former aide to Barack Obama, which has since been deleted.

This isn’t the first time that Roseanne has posted racist comments online. She also made comments about Barack Obama's national-security advisor, who is African-American, and the chair of Hilary Clintons presidential-election campaign, Huma Abedin.

After the Tweet was posted on Monday about Valerie Jarrett, ABC quickly made the decision to cancel the show. Other actors and producers from the show were on board with the decision, saying they did not agree with the actions of Roseanne Barr. Consulting producer Wanda Sykes and actress Emma Kenny quit the show as soon as Roseanne Tweeted the racist comment, before the show was cancelled.

People involved and not involved in the show had a lot to say about the issue.

Even Katie Hopkins had her say on it, in support of Roseanne.

Roseanne Barr apologised for her comments and has said she is leavingTtwitter as a result. Don't think there is any going back for her now.
