The Sunday Times has released a "Definitive Guide To The Top 400 Schools In Ireland". The guide was created from data surrounding third-level institutions, the number of students repeating the leaving cert and the Central Applications Office.
If you're a former student of some of the schools mentioned then you might be surprised if your school made the cut.
With over 700 secondary schools in the country, here are the top five schools from each province:

According to the ranking of schools, the top five schools in the country are all girls schools. Over 85% of the top 5 schools went on to study at university and nearly 100% of the students went on to study at third-level. The best all boys school in the country is Glenstal Abbey School, Murroe, Limerick and the best mixed school is Colaiste na Coiribhe, Knocknacarra, Galway.
