Big news this evening for anyone who takes the bus, train or Luas to work. Facemasks will become mandatory on all Irish public transport from this Monday, according to taoiseach Michéal Martin. Drivers will have the power to refuse entry to passengers if a mask is not worn.

Previously, passengers on public transport were asked to wear masks but it wasn't compulsory. This is a huge - and necessary - change. Be sure to stock up on face coverings this weekend if you commute on mass transit.
