Burger King Raises Awareness Of Bullying In Clever New Social Experiment
Burger King released a social experiment on Tuesday that is designed to encourage people to stand up to bullying. The video titled 'Bullying Jr.' is a social experiment where a group of child actors 'bully' one of the actors and the patrons of the Burger King are examined to see if they stop the harassment.
Then staff members 'bully' their burgers, by punching them and leaving them in bits before serving them.
Of course what transpired was more people complained about their burgers getting roughed up than helped to stop the apparent bullying of a child.
Out of the 20 adults that unwittingly took part in the experiment only 2 of them came to the aid of the bullied child.
'We know that bullying takes on many forms, physical, verbal, relational and online. But the first step to putting an end to bullying is to take a stand against it,' Nicholas Carlisle, CEO and Founder of No Bully said.
'Our partnership with the Burger King brand is an example of how brands can bring positive awareness to important issues. You have to start somewhere and they chose to start within.'
The video also reveals that 30 per cent of school kids worldwide are bullied every year. The ad was created by Burger King as part of National Bullying Prevention Month.
