This Map Highlights The Disgrace That Is Broadband In Rural Ireland

We always knew internet quality wasn't that great in rural parts of the country, but this Ireland broadband map has really taken us aback. This map posted to Reddit shows the parts of Ireland that have access to high quality broadband.

The parts in yellow are labelled as an 'NBP Intervention Area', parts in blue are 'Covered by Operators' while the parts scattered in light blue are 'Planned Rural Deployment.' The majority of rural Ireland are living with download speeds from the early 00s.

The yellow indicates the parts of the Ireland that don't have access to quality broadband from ireland

It looks like Mayo and Kerry have the worst internet coverage, with Dublin and parts of East Cork having the largest cluster of high-speed internet. Although there are loads of plans to increase access to broadband, it looks like it'll be a long time coming.
