Accio! Just Eat Has Launched A 'Magic Wand' That Lets You Order Take Away
Just Eat in the UK has revolutionised how people order take away by launching a 'magic wand'.
The online delivery service has sprinkled some magic to meal times- users can simply activate the wand by pressing a button and waving it.
It then connects with the Just Eat app using Chirp soundwave technology. The wand is pre-programmed to order people's favourite food - or rather what their last order was via Just Eat.
And just to reinforce the Harry Potter like theme going on, the wand lights up as payment is received to confirm: “Your dish is my command.”
According to Oxford University food scientist Professor Charles Spence, the wand actually makes food tastes better. "A wand has a special place in our psyche, thanks to the popularity of magic shows and Harry Potter,” he said. “It appeals to our inner child and evokes happy memories."
There's no word yet in regards to whether the wand will be making its way over here but we live in hope. In the mean time, we'll just have to order takeaway the old-fashioned way, as God intended.
