Met Éireann Issue Updated Orange Warning To 13 Counties This Morning

For those of you heading out to the sales today be warned, you may just be swept off your feet. In the wake of Storm Dylan, best get a few bags to weigh you down as Met Éireann are forecasting strong winds this Saturday and Sunday.

At 8am this morning Met Éireann issued an updated status orange wind warning for Connacht, Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Longford, Louth, Westmeath, Meath and Clare.

The website warns that "Tonight and Sunday morning storm Dylan will track northeastwards close to Connacht and Ulster coasts. The biggest impact from the storm will be in western and northern counties with west to southwest winds reaching mean speeds of 65 to 80 km/h with gusts of 110 to 125 km/h. High seas along the west coast too with the risk of coastal flooding."

The status orange alert is valid from 9pm tonight until Sunday at 12pm.

There is a status yellow wind warning in place for Dublin, Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Wexford, Wicklow, Offaly, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford.

This warning is valid from 9pm today until Sunday 12:00pm.
