Watch: Beauty Pageant Contestant Owns Donald Trump On Live TV

Unlike Donald Trump, Miss Texas did not mince her words...

Beauty pageants are often criticised for their focus on contestants physicalities rather than their intellect but this Miss American contestant proved them all wrong. Margana Wood, the Texan contestant, was asked if Donald Trump, the 45th President of the US, was appropriate in his comments about the Charlottesville attack. Here's what she had to say:

Trump has been under fire since the Charlottesville attack after thousands of white nationalists terrorized the town in Virginia, US and left one person dead and dozens injured in their wake. Trump refused to label the attack 'terrorism' and blamed "both sides" for the violence that took place. The full response from Miss Texas, a region that votes predominantly Republican, reads:

I think that the white supremacist issue, it was very obvious that it was a terrorist attack. And I think that President Donald Trump should’ve made a statement earlier addressing the fact, and in making sure all Americans feel safe in this country. That is the number one issue right now.

Twitter was quick to celebrate the words spoken by Miss Texas and her bravery for speaking out about Trump even though she hailed from a State that helped Trump win the election:

The eventual winner of Miss America was North Dakota's Cara Mund who also disagreed with Trump's policy on climate change, arguably a much tamer question than the one given to Miss Texas:

Is anyone else reminded of Katniss Everdeen and President Snow? #rebellion
