Missing Paddle Boarders In Galway Found Clinging To Lobster Pot
Two women who went missing off the coast of Galway yesterday have been found alive.
The two women, aged 17 and 23, went paddle boarding off the Galwegian coast at Na Forbacha beach yesterday afternoon. The alarm was raised for their disappearance at 10pm last night. Today, a huge search operation took place to locate the women, with the RNLI and hundreds of volunteers in tow.
A spokesperson for the RNLI said they were found by a local fisherman who found them clinging to a lobster pot.
It was said that they survived 15 hours in the water.

The search effort was coordinated by various organisations, including the RNLI and the Irish Coast Guard Coordination centre. Furthermore, a group from the local GAA club, CLG Bearna, gathered volunteers for a search of Spiddal beach this morning.
Great news coming out of Galway. Well done to all involved in the search, glad those two women can be reunited with their families.

The two women were found near Inis Oirr. A lobster pot is a trap device used to catch a multitude of lobsters, but in this case, they can do a whole lot more.
Two Missing Paddle Boarders located and being transferred to the care of the HSE, search is now standing down, thank you to everyone that assisted in this SAR operation.
