Snow, Hail And Sleet To Hit Ireland This Weekend As Temperatures Drop
In this weeks episode of Ireland's five season week - Snow, ice, hail and sleet will be spreading it's way across the country this weekend.
Maybe this is the start of this years Beast from the East, who knows?
Met Éireann's latest forecast show freezing temperatures and wintry weather, just in time to ruin your weekend. The forecaster have predicted that temperatures will drop to 1 degrees, which is the perfect temperature for snow.
I don't know about you, but I am loving the idea of another snow storm. Although it will pretty much confirm the fact that we have broken our earth beyond prepare, after having summer-like weather only last week, I still can't get the idea of not having to go to work out of my head.
Positive news or not, it doesn't seem like the weather will get to that level, just yet, but we will see some snow for sure in parts of the country, along with sleet and heavy rain.
Met Éireann's Forecast for the weekend:
Today:
Rain will begin to clear from the west later this morning and it will then brighten in most places for the afternoon. Showers will affect Connacht and Ulster during the second half of the day but most other places will be dry into the evening. Highs of 8 to 12 degrees in moderate to fresh southwest winds.
Saturday:
Saturday night will be cold and breezy with wintry showers, mainly of rain, hail and sleet, but turning increasingly to snow overnight, especially in Ulster and on high ground. Lowest temperatures of 0 to 3 degrees with moderate to fresh westerly winds.
Sunday:
More wintry showers forecasted for Sunday, snow and sleet in places. Highest temperatures of 4 to 7 degrees with fresh, gusty westerly winds.
Next week will start out mostly dry, with some sunny spells, but Tuesday will see widespread heavy showers, some of hail with a risk of thunder, which will ease off Wednesday evening.
