The Storm Names For 2020 And 2021 Have Been Unveiled
It's our favourite time of the year! The official list of storm names for 2020 and 2021 has been unveiled.
We know, you've all been waiting with bated breath for the reveal, but they're here and they're marvellous.
The new list was compiled by Met Éireann, the UK Met Office and the Dutch National Weather Service based upon suggestions from the public.
The naming of storms was introduced by the Irish and UK met offices in 2015 with the Dutch office joining in 2019. Once a storm is named by any National Met Service globally, that name is retained if the storm moves into other waters.

"The naming of storms by National Met Services (as well as colour coding weather warnings as Yellow, Orange or Red) provides a clear, authoritative and consistent message to the public and prompts people to take action to prevent harm to themselves or to their property," said Evelyn Cusack, Met Eireann's Head of Forecasting.
A lovely mix of Irish, Anglo and Dutch storm names. We just hope we don't hear them too often...
