Oh My God! What A Complete Aisling's Gonna Get Her Own Movie
Since its inception on Facebook, Oh My God, What A Complete Aisling has become something of a phenomenon and now there's talks of turning the hit novel into a movie.
Gill Books confirmed that a film deal was being discussed for one of the most popular books of 2017.
It all started as an in-joke. Two college friends, Emer McLysaght and Sarah Breen first imagined the character 'Aisling' when they were hungover in their flat, chatting. The women then set up a Facebook page, which now has over 40,000 members and Aisling became the lead character in a novel.
Now, the authors have signed a two-book deal so fans can see plenty more of what's to come for country girl Aisling.
Commissioning Editor for Gill Books, Conor Nagle said.“One piece of feedback we’ve had time and time again is that Oh My God, What A Complete Aisling is now set to emulate the success of Ross O’Carroll-Kelly."
While it's all hush hush as regards to the plot line of the new book, due to be published in Autumn 2018, the authors have said Aisling will be spending a lot of time "down home."
We'll just have to wait and how the What A Complete Aisling movie will play out.
