11 Don'ts Of Every New Relationship
The impossible has happened and you've actually managed to find someone who will openly be in a relationship with you. You may think that all the hard work is over but how wrong are you. They're not actually contractually bound to stay with you so here's a few tips so you don't scare them off during those initial few weeks.
11. Don't Overdo the Sex
I get that you are now in a relationship and you can spend your nights on actually having fun instead of just trying to get the ride but just remember that you still have responsibilities that don't involve your head in a pillow.
10. Don't Broadcast Your Relationship
You now have a significant other and as long as long as you both know that then there is really no need to start every conversation with, 'well me and my boyfriend'. He has a name.
9. Don't Get Into the Comfort Zone too Soon
As soon as you decided to confirm that new relationship status you felt like all the hard work was over. But maybe don't go straight into wearing fat man pants with the hole in the crotch or just shaving below the knee.
8. Jumping the 'I Love You Gun' Too Soon
Just because you're in a relationship now, that doesn't mean that you can't scare them off as quickly as it took you to get them.
7. Meeting the Parents too Soon
You're in a relationship now, that means you're somewhat committed to each other so you don't have to introduce her to the whole clan just yet. Start with some casual information, like your dad gets a little handsy after two pints or the fact that your granny Myrtle is a tad racist.
6. Don't Get Too Serious
Being in a relationship is like leveling up in the maturity ladder. However there's no need to start talking about how many kids you would like or if you're a cat or a dog person because it might become a problem later in life. Just take it down a notch.
5. Don't Become Obsessive
Similar to getting too serious, you have to remember that this person is not your property. To an extent you have to compromise for each other but you can't stop them from going out or having their own social life.
4. Don't Hang Out Together All The Time
Remember what you used to do before you jumped on the love train? Like getting drunk and going out or just simply hanging out with your friends. That shouldn't stop. If you break up, you'll find yourself up shit creek without a paddle with no one there to hang out with.
3. Don't Get Jealous
We all get jealous from time to time, but don't turn into that overly attached girlfriend. Before you he had girl friends and after you he will definitely have girl friends.
2. Remember to Mess With Each Other Without Getting Serious
Remember when ye were just dating and he ripped the piss out of you all the time and you slagged him back because you were still in that flirty stage? Ya, why does that have to end? Remember how to take a joke.
1. For the Love of God Don't Get Attached to Each Others Faces...
I know, it's young love and there's just so many hormones flying all over the place but remember that your friends will judge you and people will find it disgusting. You both know who you're going home with so stop shifting in the corner and actually socialise as individuals.
