Cease & Desist: Things Guys Need To Stop Doing Now
Guys, if you're enjoying the relationship that you are currently in, then you need to try to not do the following things. If you keep them up you might end up with a one-way ticket to Splitsville. Unless, of course, that's your intention. If it is, grow a pair, no one needs these frustrations in their lives...So here are things guys need to stop doing, like yesterday...
1) Not Paying Attention During Conversations
Surfing the web, reading, or watching TV while we're trying to talk to you is a dickhead move. It's not that difficult to pay attention for like five minutes. If you're on the phone and think you can get away with it, think again. We can tell. Cut it out. If you're dating someone, the least you can do is listen to what they have to say. It's good manners.
2) Getting Way Too Jealous
Okay, to be fair a little jealousy can get you far in the dating game. However, freaking out when your significant other glances at another guy, or going ballistic when some guy chats them up in the bar is just unacceptable. It just shows that you're really insecure and only a few steps away from going through their messages and accusing them of cheating. Calm down. They're with you, aren't they?
3) Trying To Dictate How Your BF/GF Presents Themselves
You can't and shouldn't tell them how to dress, if they want to wear something that makes them look shit hot, let them. It's their body. Again, this is just showing how insecure you are. Is there not a part of you that is proud that this fine specimen of the human race has agreed to sleep with you exclusively? You should be. This goes for personal grooming as well. Don't expect your partner to wax down below if you aren't willing to do the same. It's their body. They can do what they like with it. If you don't like it, get over it or get a new partner.
4) If Your S.O. Is Fishing For Compliments Just Give It To Them
In an ideal world, you would just compliment them anyway, but this isn't an ideal world. So, if it seems like they want you to tell them that they're beautiful and funny and you're so happy that they are with you, just do it. It will only mean good things for you in the long-run.
5) Keeping Silent About Your Feelings
No matter how many times you say that you're fine, it's pretty damn obvious that you're not. There's nothing more frustrating than just sitting there waiting for the guy to come out with it. It's clearly bothering you and you can't think of anything to distract you from whatever it is that's bothering you. Out with it. We know it's uncomfortable to talk about your feelings sometimes, but everything will feel better once you get it off your chest. Trust me and rip the band-aid off.
6) Being Grossed Out By Periods (for heterosexual couples)
I mean, come on. It's not like by being in the same room as your girlfriend while she's menstruating means that you're going to get covered in blood. You don't have to deal with used tampons or pads. The most that will be required of you is to make her a cup of tea and buy her some chocolate and painkillers. The best boyfriends are the ones that don't let it bother them, who'll be sympathetic and rub our cramping bellies while telling us that we are beautiful. It's a trying time for our feelings, try to understand that.
7) Pretending You Don't Like Something Because It's 'Girly'
Get over your macho pride, you loved that cheesy chick flick, I saw you shed a tear. You love being romanced and you love being made feel special. Don't pretend that you're this hard man who has no feelings. That's not the most attractive. It's nice to know that the guy that you're with can actually feel things, other than hunger and sexual arousal.
8) Making Fun Of The Things/ People That Your Partner Likes
So what if s/he likes watching crappy reality TV shows or hours of some random British YouTuber documenting his life? That's their choice. You don't have to join them in that interest, so don't be mean about it. Also, their friends. If you don't like them or have nothing in common with them, deal with it, don't be rude. Put up with them if you have to and complain about them to your friends, not to your girl/boyfriend.
9) Being a Bro With Your Friends
Okay, I know dudes act like dudes when they are around dudes, but there comes a point where some guys take it to extremes and actually end up being disrespectful and even mean to their partners. Act like a bro around your friends if you want, but don't be mean unless you like having massive arguments with your significant other and having sex withheld from you.
10) Not Finishing A Job You Started
Sex involves at least two people - I don't know what you crazy kids get up to in the bedroom - therefore, two people should ideally get the same satisfaction from one session. Meaning, if the guy cums, the girl should as well. Don't instantly roll over and sleep as soon as you cum. Your job is not done until she cums. Don't be a selfish lover. Also the dishes, if you start doing them, just finish the rest. Don't stop halfway through.
Now go forth and prosper in the dating world....
