Forbes Highest Earning DJs Of 2013

Forbes released their annual list of the highest earning DJs of the year last night and it didn't come as much of a surprise as to who filled the top spots. At the moment the electronic music industry is booming. The island of Ibiza, home and mecca of dance music all around the world is slowly losing it's allure in favour of nightlife capital of the world Las Vegas. The reason? One simple factor that makes Vegas stronger than any of it's rivals... Money. Ibiza will endure and people will always flock there in droves to see the latest and most talented. Vegas however is the epitomy of where EDM music and the culture surrounding it stands at the moment. Club owners view DJs as commodities that are there for the sole purpose of making money, despite what you may hear. This is the reason why the top ten highest earning DJs (listed below) all have, or have had residencies in Sin City in the past 18 months.

The list serves as a gentle reminder of how powerful the EDM business has become but make no mistake about it... It won't last, it never does.

Here it is..

1. Calvin Harris – £30m

2. Tiësto – £20m

3. David Guetta – £19m

4. Swedish House Mafia – £16m

5. Deadmau5 – £13.5m

6. Avicii – £12m

7. Afrojack – £11.5m

8. Armin van Buren – £11m

9. Kaskade - £10m

10. Skrillex - £10m
