HMV To Return To Ireland!

It has been confirmed that an agreement has been reached. At least four HMVs will return to Ireland including ones at Henry Street, Dundrum and Limerick. This has marked the latest in a series of developments which saw the much beloved store return to the United Kingdom. While branches such as the one in Cork are not expected to reopen, the stores that do will lead to the recruitment of 100 people. Retail Excellence CEO David Fitzsimon has admitted that the brand was facing a great range of problems and that despite these (Grafton's has already been put on the market), it would be a "welcome re-entry to the market."

The brand of course went into administration in January across Ireland and the UK with speculation being rife that it would not return. The deal with Hilco was the latest news we gathered about their challenges and its Chief, Paul McGowan has stated that while some of the branches may take up to six weeks to get ready and readjust, the one on Henry Street was pretty much "ready to go."

What do you all think of this latest development? Do you think HMV will thrive in a nation where people have apathetically shown nostalgia for it? or will it flop under the weight of a world that just doesn't care anymore? Please comment below.
