Admittedly, I would much rather be lying on a beach somewhere hot instead of sitting at a desk looking out at the rain right now, so would everyone else - though that doesn't mean we don't like our jobs. I would love to be traveling the world but just not right now. Here's my reasons for not going traveling just yet.
1) Dollar, dollar bills, yo!
Okay, so. The internship I'm doing doesn't actually pay BUT just think of how much better my starting wage will be when I get a job in this field because of the work I've been doing this summer. And I have a part time job.
2) I have loads of time to travel.
I'm only 19. So let's say I live till I'm 85...That means I've 66 years to go traveling. I think I'm good.
3) For the experience.

Now I know what an office environment is like and I'm ahead of all you other bitches because I have the experience that you don't. But really, I would be shitting myself if I was starting my life after college and didn't get to have a trial run first.
4) I don't have a travel buddy.
I'm not going to South Asia by myself to then be murdered and chopped into tiny pieces and thrown into a river - nope. As this is the world we live in, a woman can't go travelling around the world by herself because she'll probably be murdered. So I worked instead. Props to those gals that do it though, you're braver than me!
5) Internships look great on CV's.
In there like swimwear. When future employers see my CV, BAYUM! They're going to be hella impressed. Who wouldn't want me working for them with all my experience?
6) To make connections.
When the internship is over and I go back to college to finish my degree, I'll now have peeps on the inside to call and help me into where I want to go.
