This German Festival Built A 7km Beer Pipeline To Serve 400,000 Litres Of Beer

Wacken Open Air Festival in Germany, the world's biggest metal music festival, just took drinking to a whole new level. The festival organizers have built a 7km beer pipeline to deliver up to 400,000 litres of beer to festival goers.

Over the course of the 3-day festival, it's 75,000 person crowd consume on average 5.1 litres of beer, according to Statista. So to stop the delivery of beer by trucks, the organisers built the huge pipeline 80cm under the ground to keep it cool and to prevent the vehicles from ruining the grass.

The pipes will be able to reach six glasses every six seconds, thanks to the pressure from the structure.
