I Shitzu You Not, Several People Come Forward To Claim Hamish The Dog

Here's a lovely tale that could be adapted to a Hollywood blockbuster of Ireland's answer to Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey. Yesterday, a little pup boarded the 8:46 train from Sallins to Heuston. The dog, who has since been rather adorably named Hamish, threw caution to Irish Rail's no feet on the seat rules and hoped up on the nearest free seat. Hamish kept fellow passengers entertained and smiling 'ear terrier', with his shy yet playful manner. Many went as far as describing him as 'the perfect passenger'.

When Hamish got off in the big smoke at Dublin's Heuston station, staff were puzzled as to what to do with the solo traveller. They took to social media to try and find his owners. In the meantime, an employee of Irish rail took care of Hamish and he stayed the night at My Lovely Horse animal rescue centre in County Kildare.

The latest development to Hamish's story is several people have now come forward to claim the adorable pup. Irish rail is now taking the lead on finding Hamish's real owner. Irish comedian, Dara O' Briain took to Twitter to share his need for closure on this story. I hear you Dara!

The Nation is waiting with bated breath for Irish Rail to share a video of Hamish reunited with his owner. A video that is only comparable to that classic YouTube clip of when Christian the lion is reunited with his owners. I can see it not just replace Christian with Hamish and there won't be a dry eye in the place.

Here's a reminder of that heartwarming reunion:

Latest breaking news development of this story, Hamish is reunited with his family. His real name is Tyson and a family reunion is to be confirmed.

Thank you Irish Rail for the updates.
