Oh dear.
Recently the chain of popular stores has been hitting headlines over an accounting irregularities scandal. Now the UK version of Dealz, Poundland, has caused another storm in a teacup with its recent Elf On The Shelf campaign. The Elf on Shelf is known as a children's toy and you can't go anywhere without spotting one in a shop window.
The company has popped the little Elf in some compromising raunchy positions and their efforts have caused a tense reaction online. Today's latest Elf on the shelf adventure has not been well received:

The Elf on the Shelf has become a special tradition amongst parents and children over the last number of Christmases. A number of people have found the ads 'tasteless' with some even questioning whether the company was hacked:

has @Poundland been hacked..... their recent adverts on here have been in rather poor taste......

i get that the 'elf' is being naughty, cheeky etc...
but surely it didnt have to be overtly sexual ,
a sign of the times sadly....— mark howsham (@MarkHowsham) December 21, 2017
this is incredibly grim, Poundland. is your social campaign being run by an 11-year-old who's just found out about sex?

The Poundland Twitter account verified that the company had not been hacked by a sex mad Elf and had this to say about controversy:
