You would think that a movie about a haunted house and a dead grandparent would leave audiences with very little to laugh about but you'd be wrong.
Faced with the terrifying sequence of images that Hereditary continually throws at its audience, some fans searched their brains for references to a happier, simpler time.
If you've seen the trailer for Hereditary you'll remember the clicking noise that the teenager Charlie makes. The clicking noise becomes a significant part of the entire movie and its what fans decided was the moment that would either make or break their fear.
A fan of clicking her tongue, or affectionately known as the tongue pop, RuPaul's Drag Race alumni Alyssa Edwards was the original master of the tongue pop and fans couldn't help but link Charlie to the queen of tongue popping.

Maybe somebody should show this to the kids in Australia who were accidentally shown the Hereditary trailer before the cute Peter Rabbit movie. Parents were left screaming at the projectionist "turn it off", which is 2018 is no longer a person but a machine. To be fair, one imagines that when the Peter Rabbit movie itself actually began airing, their reactions were much the same.
If you think you can handle it, Hereditary is in cinemas now.
