Fighting for the Throne can leave you thirsty evidently. Twitter went crazy after episode 4 of Game of Thrones aired when somebody spotted a Starbucks cup sitting on a table. Surely, people thought, they couldn't make the same mistake twice. Millions of dollars, probably thousands of hours spent on editing, a coffee cup was embarrassing enough. It has happened again, however. The most eagle-eyed of viewers spotted a water bottle by Sam's foot in the scene where the new king is being discussed.

Liam Cunningham (Davos) also got caught out by shrewd fans.

Emilia Clarke's rogue coffee cup prompted HBO to issue a statement online saying:
The latte that appeared in the episode was a mistake. Daenerys had ordered a herbal tea.
HBO edited the cup out of later broadcasts of the show, and streaming versions. As of now, it is unclear if they'll do the same for Sam and Davos' stray water bottles. Given how badly received the show is, this mistake is the last thing HBO need.
The online petition on Change.org, calling for HBO to remake the 8th season has now garnered over 1 million signatures. The petition, titled 'Remake Game Of Thrones Season 8 With Competent Writers' demands that HBO ditch the current season of the show and start the whole process again, of writing, filming and editing an entirely new concluding season of the show. In the petition, they state David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have proven themselves to be woefully incompetent writers when they have no source material (i.e. the books) to fall back on.
Some very harsh criticisms from fans of the series.
