Yesterday afternoon Megan and Harry, the Princess and Prince of Sussex, landed on Ireland's shores. The newlyweds had only touched the tarmac when their team whisked them away to meet the Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar.
Shortly after their chats with Leo, Megan and Harry were brought to a summer party at the British Ambassador's residence greeted by some exceptional tunes from a set by 2FM's Louise McSharry.
Louise decided to play the royals only songs by Irish acts and not just the ones we're used to hearing. In a brilliant move, the playlist included contemporary Irish acts, The Villagers, our personal favourites Soulé and Saint Sister, that not only showcased new and existing Irish talents but matched the tastes of a progressive and young couple.
Sharing the playlist on Twitter, Louise was informed that her music choices went down well with Harry but the music was by no means an exhaustive list of Irish talents, just what was appropriate for a garden party - makes sense.
Here's a link to the playlist I mainly worked from last night. According to @WeeMissBea, Harry commented on the music being good, which wouldn't surprise me because Irish music is KILLING IT right now! <3 https://t.co/0mUPmI61uu
