If ever there was a reason to give into the absurd, delusional rhetoric of right-wing lunatics demanding that Ireland close its borders, it would be for this. Love Island's winners, Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham are to visit the country to appear on The Ray D'Arcy Show this Saturday. 'Build a wall!', 'Close the harbours!', 'Take in the runways!' We must lock our doors and prevent this from happening.
...I concede that this is perhaps an overreaction given both the impractical nature of the suggestion and that, seeing as I spent a large portion of my summer being obsessed with Love Island, I am actually a massive fan of both Dani and Jack. Nonetheless the couple will appear on The Ray D'Arcy Show this Saturday to discuss how they're adjusting to living their lives outside of the constant scrutiny of television cameras; and now only living their lives under the scrutiny of television cameras when they so decide.
Also appearing on the show will be, Lisa McGee, the creator of one of the most successful Irish teleivision shows of recent times, Derry Girls. She'll be there talking about the show's success and giving some teasers as to what will be appearing in the much anticipated second season.
